The Gift of Sight

This afternoon we went to Paragachi to visit Sonia Ramos' family for lunch. Afterwards we visited her adult literacy class to distribute eye glasses to the adult students. They were so grateful. After each fitting they all applauded their classmate who had just received their new glasses and new vision.

In gratitude, Paulito, a blind student in the class,  invited us to his casa for a meal. He said he would slaughter his best chicken to share and play his guitar for us. He is an amazing guitarist and has such a powerful and passionate voice when he sings about his beloved Ecuador.
What a sweet and grateful people. We love them dearly.
